About Life Time Fitness

Life Time Fitness is a luxury athletic club known for its pools, basketball courts, and fitness classes. They’ve been working for years to rebrand themselves from a regular gym to an Athletic Country Club. Aside from the usual gym amenities, such as fitness equipment, you’ll also find a Kid’s Academy, a Cafe, Sauna, Hot Tubs, Pools, Basketball Courts, Spin Studios, and some locations even have a full Spa. Life Time offers a variety of membership options. Previously, they had different levels of clubs – like Gold, Platinum, and Diamond. However, they recently changed their pricing structure so that there are only two levels. The two levels are determined by the price point. So, if you pay $129 per month for your membership, you can get into any club. You can get into any club at that level if you pay $159 per month. Another significant distinction between the two pricing structures is that the higher price point includes their personalized Group Fitness classes such as GTX, Alpha, and Ultra Fit, as well as Pilates. If you want to try LifeTime without committing to a membership, they also have day memberships starting at around $40. Kids Academy is a place for children aged three months to preteens to come and play while their parents work out. Kids Academy provides structured activities for children such as arts and crafts, STEAM activities, gymnastics, and others. They’ll even teach older kids (5 and up) how to rock climb on the rock climbing wall. They also have free play if that is more your child’s style. The only disadvantage of the club is that if you have a child in diapers, you must come down and change them. There are kid-friendly bathrooms for older kids who can use the potty, but little kids in diapers still require attention. To get into the Kids Club, each kid needs a membership on a family Lifetime membership. Kids Club Membership will vary based on where you are but generally are $20-$30 per kid per month. The 45-minute Barbell Strength class focuses on barbell exercises. Before class begins, you will set up your station with various barbell weights, dumbbells, and a bench, and the instructor will walk you through various moves. If your level of fitness varies, the instructor will provide you with various options. They will also recommend weights for all levels based on the exercises. Shred is a class that combines cardio and strength training. It’s done in the AMRAP – As Many Rounds as Possible – style, where you do as many rounds of an exercise as you can in one minute before moving on to the next. They’re set up in 5-minute increments, with a minute of cardio activity at the end. Another fantastic benefit of LifeTime is access to the pool. The pool amenities vary depending on where you are, but their location has indoor lap pools as well as a family leisure pool that is open almost all day. It’s convenient for customers to be able to take their children to the pool whenever they want. They also sell swim toys, pool noodles, life jackets, and other items. There are also lifeguards on duty. You can also sign up for swim lessons, but we’ve found that they’re difficult to get into because they fill up quickly. On-site, Life Time also has a Cafe where you can purchase healthy snacks, meals, and smoothies. The food and drinks are a little pricey – around $10 for a shake – but it’s a convenient option. They also occasionally run promotions in which you can get a free coffee or tea refill for the entire season if you buy a mug. First, let us compare the prices of Planet Fitness and LifeTime Fitness. Planet Fitness costs significantly less than Lifetime Fitness. Planet Fitness memberships typically cost between $10 and $25, whereas lifetime memberships start at $99. Sign-up fees at Planet Fitness may vary depending on the plan. While both Planet Fitness and LifeTime have standard fitness equipment such as treadmills, spin bikes, ellipticals, and weights, Lifetime offers more. A lap pool, basketball courts, and racquetball courts are available at many Lifetime locations. Steam rooms, saunas, hot tubs, and spa services may also be available. Life Time also has a Kids Academy where children can be cared for up to 2 12 hours per day. It is not believed that Planet Fitness currently offers childcare. Planet Fitness, on the other hand, provides some amenities that Life Time does not. There are massage chairs and tanning beds available.
