Xbox Live is the online multiplayer gaming and content management and delivery service operated by Microsoft for the Xbox gaming console. Microsoft made the service available as of November 2002 with an updated version available for the launch of the Xbox 360 in 2005 as well as a version for the Xbox One consoles as of 2013. Microsoft was founded by Bill Gates and Paul Allen in 1975 and currently has its headquarters in Redmond, Washington.

Xbox live is available in two formats, the free version known as Xbox Live Silver, and the paid premium version known as Xbox Live Gold. Xbox Live’s silver tier allows users to access some features such as remote cloud saves of games, the social hub of the platform, a web browser, and install most of the available apps for Microsoft and third-party services. The Gold tier provides additional services such as accessing free to play games, free games each month, a 5-minute game DVR feature, voice or party chat, broadcasting live, and online multiplayer features.

Members may sign up for the Xbox Live Gold service with a credit card, or with a prepurchased Gold or Xbox gift cards. The service is available as a 1 month, 3 months, or 12-month subscription. 1 month of Xbox Live Gold is $9.99, 3 months are available for $24.99 and 12 months are available for $59.99. Members can either choose to manually add a card at the end of their subscription or allow the service to automatically charge their linked payment card. Xbox Live Gold will attempt to renew automatically at the end of the paid period if funds or a card are available. There is no minimum commitment, however, and members may choose to cancel their subscription at any time. More information is available below to assist in canceling your Xbox Live Gold subscription.
