The business provides three levels of service that require a 36-month commitment. Individuals have three days to cancel their contract. ADT does not offer any trial period past the initial three days.

Steps to Cancel

According to ADT, customers cannot cancel their services online. Individuals must contact the security company directly to request the termination of their services.

  1. Call 1-800-243-1748.
  2. Ask the customer service agent to cancel your ADT service.
  3. Request an email or letter confirming your ADT account cancellation.

Note: ADT’s security contracts are usually 36-months long. The company may require customers to pay a termination fee. If so, they’ll need to pay 75 percent of the remaining contract.

For example, if a person pays $50 per month, the individual will be required to pay $1,350 if they just started their ADT service and missed the three-day cancellation period.
