MealPal Inc was founded in 2015 in Miami, FL and originally launched its service as Mealpass, renaming it MealPal in September 2016. Subscribers pay a flat rate for their chosen plan and can choose one lunch meal, or dinner in some markets, from participating restaurants each day and pick it up. Each participating restaurant offers one meal to members each day, and users may use their mobile app or computer to see the choices and choose their desired option. Lunches must be chosen by the cutoff time of 10:30 am each day and dinner choices cut off at 4:00 pm local time each day. Currently, lunch plans are offered in Boston, Brooklyn, Chicago, Denver, Miami, NYC, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, DC. Dinner plans are available only in NYC and Brooklyn at this time. Lunch plans are available in two options, 20 meals per month at a rate of $5.99 per meal for a total charge of $119.80 plus tax or 12 meals per month at $6.39 per meal for a total of charge of $76.68 plus tax. Dinner plans have three options, 15 meals per month at a rate of $6.49 per meal for a total charge of $97.35 plus tax, 10 meals per month at a rate of $6.99 per meal for a total charge of $69.90 plus tax, and an 8 meal plan with the ability to roll up to 8 unused meals into the next month at a rate of $7.49 per meal for a total charge of $59.92 plus tax.
