About Everyplate

For that keep score, EveryPlate is a spinoff of Green Chef, which was recently acquired by HelloFresh. While Green Chef takes a more gourmet approach to pre-portioned recipes, EveryPlate aims to be the most affordable meal kit service and appears to have succeeded. It’s easy to join EveryPlate: Simply enter your address and contact information, then choose a plan and payment method. Plan options include three, four, or five meals per week with two or four servings per meal. The price per serving remains constant regardless of plan, so there is no need to perform any is-this-a-better-deal calculations. Simply order what you believe you will require. The fun part begins when you select meal kits from a menu of roughly 13-16 recipes. Meals are rotated weekly, with favorites returning frequently. There is a wealth of information available about each one, including calories, nutrition, and preparation time. Most EveryPlate meal kits allow you to substitute proteins and side dishes if you despise green beans or have had way too much chicken recently. You can even preview the next two weeks’ menus ahead of time. EveryPlate ships to the majority of the continental United States, with boxes arriving on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays (your choice). Meal kit deliveries are sealed with large ice packs and are designed to stay cold for up to 48 hours in case you are not home to receive them on a specific day. EveryPlate values comfort food. Meatloaf, pork chops, chicken pot pie, tacos, and pasta recipes can all be found on any given weekly menu. The sides are equally filling, with plenty of mashed potatoes, roasted carrots, white rice, and noodles. Every week, there are a few – but not many plant-based options and EveryPlate meal kits don’t include many trendy ingredients or superfoods. The recipes are mostly familiar, but the culinary team will add a hoisin (Japanese BBQ sauce) glaze to an otherwise traditional meatloaf or a sweet apricot and Dijon sauce to a chicken dish to spice things up. EveryPlate only offers a few seafood or steak options (one or two per week), and the majority of them are considered “premium” and cost an extra $3 per serving. There are only lunch and dinner meal kits available, with no breakfast or snack options, though you can choose a protein pack of chicken breasts and ground beef for meal planning. EveryPlate meals are among the simplest to prepare. EveryPlate is a good option for new or amateur cooks because there are very few if any, overly complicated recipes that require advanced skills or fancy kitchen equipment. Each meal kit includes a detailed recipe card with glossy images and cooking instructions to guide you through the process. Each card also clearly states what you’ll need that isn’t included, such as cooking oil, butter, or ketchup, so you’re not caught off guard. If you choose to substitute a side or protein, there are small addendums in the corner to address any minor changes to the recipe. As an example, “Did you choose chicken over pork? Follow the recipe exactly as written, except in step 4, cook the chicken for 5-6 minutes per side.” EveryPlate’s main differentiator is not only that it is the cheapest meal kit service, but it is also one of the most straightforward. There aren’t many choices to make, beginning with the meal kit plan itself. Every week, there are only about 15 menu options. EveryPlate is ideal for anyone looking to improve their cooking routine, learn to cook, or add new recipes to their repertoire without breaking the bank. Busy people, too, because it saves time by eliminating trips to the store as well as time spent pondering what to make. EveryPlate has plenty of comfort foods and carbs, but there are also some healthier options. EveryPlate costs $5 per serving if you choose meal kits for four people and closer to $6 if you only order recipes for two people. It is one of the cheapest meal kit companies available, and it gets even cheaper when you take advantage of a special promotion like the one that is currently running (just $2 per serving). Keep in mind that “Premium” meals like salmon and steak have a $3 per serving surcharge, and each box costs $9 to ship. They currently accept PayPal as well as all major credit cards (VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover). In the future, they plan to add more payment methods to streamline their checkout process and provide customers with more options. Your first box and recurring orders will be charged four days before your scheduled delivery date. Please keep in mind that completing the checkout process confirms your agreement to a weekly auto-renewing subscription service with EveryPlate. You can, however, change, pause, or cancel your delivery at any time before 11:59 PM PST 5 days before your scheduled order.
