You can also cancel by phone, by calling 1-888-265-8008.
They are open Mon – Fri 8 a.m. to 1 a.m. and Sat: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. When you call the number, say “Cancellation,” then enter your 10-digit phone number that you used when you signed up. After providing your phone number, please wait for the automated voice to confirm. If you no longer recall your phone number, simply say “I don’t have it.”
You can also mail AOL at:
PO Box 65100
Sterling, VA 20165-8800
Or send them a fax at 703-433-7283.
Specify that you’re cancelling, give your full name, phone number, address and signature, and either the primary billing contact’s AOL screenname or the last four digits of the current payment method. Make sure they give you a confirmation number. And if AOL continues billing you, contact the webmaster at AOL Watch.
If you do not know your account security question and answer you will need to call and cancel.
There are certain AOL accounts that are set up without the option of phone contact. You will not be able to speak to a live person or receive any real help by calling. The best option you have on these accounts is to mail your request to cancel.
