Purple Carrot is a vegan, plant-based meal subscription box founded by CEO Andy Levitt. The service is similar to other meal subscription boxes in that it comes with chosen recipes, cards with instructions for cooking the meals, and all the necessary ingredients which the subscriber then uses to prepare the meals. Unlike some other services, Purple Carrot meals are all vegan and customers cannot choose which day of the week their deliveries will arrive. The meal plans come as 2 servings each of 3 meals per week from the chosen plan. Customers may choose between Quick & Easy, which contains meals that can be prepared in 30 minutes or less in the kitchen, High Protein, meals designed with higher protein counts, or Chef’s choice gourmet plans for $12.00 per serving charged as a total of $72.00 per week. The 4th plan is their TB12 plan which the company states was developed with professional football player Tom Brady. TB12 boxes are $13.00 per serving for a total charge of $78.00 per week. Subscribers receiving the quick & easy, high protein, or chef’s choice plans can customize their weekly boxes with recipes from any of the three plans for that week regardless of which plan was initially chosen. Doing nothing means you will receive the selected three recipes for your plan for the week. TB12 customers do not have this ability and can only receive the weekly TB12 selections. None of the plans have a commitment or minimum subscription term and can be cancelled at any time the user desires.
