Tidal, launched in 2014, is a subscription service that offers members access to podcasts, music, and high definition music video streaming. Tidal is operated by the Norwegian technology company Aspiro AB that was founded in Jorgen Adolfsson, Christer Mansson, and Klas Hallqvist in 1998 and is headquartered in Oslo, Norway with additional offices in Poland, Sweden, Denmark, and Germany. Aspiro’s music streaming services reached 500,000 paying customers as of December 2014 before being acquired by music artist Jay-Z’s Project Panther Bidco Ltd. Tidal offers subscribers access to over 60 million music tracks, and 240,000 music videos via Windows, Mac OS, iOS, and Android platforms.

Two different service levels are available to Tidal subscribers, Tidal Premium and Tidal HiFi. Tidal Premium offers subscribers expertly curated content, standard quality audio, and high definition music video streaming. This plan offers a 30-day free trial to new subscribers, and bills at a rate of $9.99 per month. Tidal HiFi includes high fidelity audio, curated content, and high definition videos. This plan also includes a 30-day free trial and is available for a charge of $19.99 per month. Family plans are also available, which include the ability to add up to 5 additional people. Family Premium memberships are $14.99 per month, while Family HiFi memberships are $29.99 per month. Discounted plan rates for both Premium and HiFi memberships are also available for students and military servicemembers.

Both plans automatically convert to the paid rate after the 30-day free trial and automatically renew every 30-days. There is no minimum term to either membership and they can be cancelled at any time with no penalty. We have some additional information below to help you cancel your Tidal streaming membership.
